Sleep Number has gained a reputation for making innovate beds and accessories that make sleep a more comfortable experience. But nothing compares to their new 360 Bed, which features some impressive tech under the covers.
For starters, it can warm your feet. While this may seem trivial to those living closer to the equator, people who are used to cold nights will tell you that a blanket and socks will only go so far. It also adjusts your sleeping position to make things more comfortable. It will figure out how well you slept based on built-in sensors that will track your movement, heart rate and breathing. There is also a detector that will adjust your head position if you start snoring, which is something that is sure to put a smile on many significant other’s faces.
The bed compromises of three layers, the top one being the soft, premium cushion layer that you lay on. Under that is the air chamber, which is the part that adjusts your position as mentioned above. Below the air chamber is the mechanics that physically move the entire bed.
At the end piece of the bed is a sensor that collects all your data and sends it back to the Sleep Number app over Bluetooth. The software then compiles that information and calculates a score that represents how well you slept at night, called a Sleep IQ. The technology has existed in Sleep Number’s beds for a few years now, but this version brings all those features together into one package. The air chamber houses the pressure sensors that detect your movements and your snoring through vibration detectors.
The king sized bed will cost around $4000 depending on which material you choose. Its far from cheap, but all things considered, the rather feature set is rather impressive for the price.
